Whenever I ask people about the best infant schools in Fuengirola, one name pops up every time. That name is La Casita de Martin.
La Casita de Martin is a unique and wonderful establishment. It is an Infant school situated on a 14,000m2 plot in Los Boliches, Fuengirola.
Many parents moving to Malaga are nervous about immersing their young children immediately into the Spanish state system. There are fears about language and cultural adaptation. Every child is different and a bilingual infant school is sometimes the best option for a first step to adapting to a new life in Spain.
Let’s have a closer look at what La Casita de Martin offers …
The school is for children up to the age of 6 years old, which is when compulsory education starts in Spain. La Casita de Martin helps the children develop the skills necessary, as stated by Spanish law, to allow them to easily adapt to Primary education. Their focus is to encourage independence through teaching the children to learn social skills, communication, about their own bodies and the environment.
Through the activities and workshops, the children can learn to play in a loving, caring atmosphere, gaining confidence whilst enjoying themselves. A lot of the activities take place outdoors in the wonderful surroundings, at the farm, in the countryside and in the outdoor classrooms or play area. It is such a beautiful climate and it’s natural to learn outdoors rather than indoors.
They also offer a FAMILY SCHOOL where parents and family members can take part in workshops and debates. All of this is made possible with thanks to the support and participation of the family.
The school is open from September to July, from 8.30am to 17.00, except in the month of September when the school closes at 15.00.
Holidays: August, Christmas, Easter and the last week of June.
IMPORTANT: La Casita de Martin offers a summer school in July. This is a great way for children to meet some of their classmates before the new school year begins.
