The decision whether is is better to rent or buy in Malaga is a very personal one. It is a decision that should be taken once you have researched thoroughly. It is a decision you should make without unnecessary, outside influence. (ie. pushy estate agents!)

As a general guideline, if you are moving your family to Spain, with view to permanent living, I advise renting in the area we help you to chose, for around eighteen to twenty-four months, before deciding to purchase a property. This allows you to experience the lifestyle during the various seasons.
It is important to remember that buying a permanent home, that you intend to occupy all year round is very different to buying a holiday home. Do you really want to be in a location that is extremely busy and overcrowded in the peak holiday months but then a ghost town in the winter? This is one of the many issues we will discuss when looking for the best location for you.
If the thought that “rent money is dead money” enters your head, just look into the loss you would make by purchasing the wrong property in Spain … that dead money will soon look like small change!
